About our foundation

Firm Health Ghana Foundation (FHGF), is a voluntary, non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit, patient focused and humanitarian organization interested in prevention of kidney disease by early detection through screening and awareness creation through education. It was registered with the Registrar General Department of Ghana, under the company’s act 1963 (act 179) as a company limited by guarantee in July 2012.

OUr goal

Our short term goals are to implement, Kidney Early Evaluation & Prevention (KEEP) programme, for corporate institutions, churches, social clubs and organizations and some deprived communities in and around Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality.

  • Educating people on the need to live healthy lifestyles
  • Provide free public renal screening
  • And assist those affected by the disease to seek early treatment

There is an estimated 12,000 kidney failure cases are recorded among Ghanaians every year. Across the globe, 10 percent of the population is affected by preventable yet deadly kidney diseases. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) was ranked 18th in the list of causes of total number of deaths worldwide according to the 2010 Global Burden of Disease study.
